Kicking myself for not generating a 1 time email address for some insurance comparison site (I was in a rush). With in hours of requesting quotes I get an email from the other major comparison site with links to quotes.
So how do I now prove the the first site sent all the insurance providers my email, and (at least) one of them has now shared it with the other comparison site?
Or am I just being overly cynical?

But it is also not 100% consistent, e.g. Friday night while the line dropped a couple of times, it always came back up.

OK, this broadband fault is getting really annoying.
Overnight (It's always after midnight) my line will go down, it will then not come up until the Modem (VDSL in bridge mode) is power cycled.
It feels like it has to be a problem in the modem, as even unplugging the copper pair doesn't reset it (if it was the DSLAM end I'd expect that to clear it?).
I've swapped out the Modem (for an identical unit), and it still happens, which feels like it has to be a software fault.

OK, that's new
It looks like the blog comment spammers have started feeding the blog content through LLMs to generate "plausable" comments with links in.

Example (obfuscated output)
$ nslookup xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxxx.xxx.xx

Non-authoritative answer:

OK, that's a new one.
running nslookup some.domain.foo is returning the correct address twice, but also
sever can't find some.domain.foo: NXDOMAIN
(this is busybox nslookup in an alpine container)

Oh Joy, time to find a new Home Insurance provider as mine has obviously decided that 7 years of zero claims is too big a risk, and declined to offer a renewal.

OK, that is just dishonest, NowTV shows a page saying the account has been cancelled, but you need to scroll to the bottom and progress through 2 more pages before they actually cancel the account and stops taking payments.

OK, The next suggestion for debugging the dropping broadband was to set up a totally separate account for the L2TP fail over.
That comes with a different WAN IP address, so the need for a bunch of firewall/port forwarding changes to make sure everything works while in the FTTC line is down.
I don't have time to do that before the weekend, so as an alternate test, I've been playing with scheduled scripts to turn the fail over off from 00:00 to 01:00 to see if things recover on their own.
