I now will install #Slackware #Linux instead, even though I'm increasingly dissatisfied with Slackware's current release cycle of multiple years and more and more outdated packages.

Putting the RPI image onto a USB stick, booting from it and installing the system to the sdcard with 'bsdinstall' works. Because this installation won't boot on the Raspberry, the files from the zip from here
https://github.com/pftf/RPi4/releases
have to be copied into the root of the EFI partition on the sdcard. The result is that the Raspberry boots #FreeBSD from the sdcard.
Unfortunately, the booting process is interrupted by an error message I don't understand. I'm done with this.

I wanted to try #FreeBSD 14.2 on the Raspberry Pi 4 but I actually entered a world of pain.
I don't like pre-installed images anyway. I would rather like to install it myself. When it comes to the ARM port the documentation doesn't seem to be really good. There might be a way, though.
I'm completely new to FreeBSD. I had just installed it for the very first time a couple of days ago in a VM. It really looks good so far.

[#]Friendica looks promising as an alternative to #Facebook. I can highly recommend to try it out.

Did you know you can create shell scripts with a graphical UI using KDialog (#KDE) or Zenity (#GTK)?
This is a great way to write simple tools with a user-friendly UI.

Regarding #retrocomputing, this year wasn't the best. Work was too demanding to have much time to spend with retro stuff. Also, my 4-port serial card doesn't work anymore after upgrading #Linux on my home server. So I can't use my terminals at the moment. Positive was that I finally bought #Atari STs and a #CPC, again.

The first days with the new CPC 664 were complete magic. Thankfully the manual was made for beginners and invited me and my dad to play around with Basic, graphics and sound. I still remember the unbelievable feeling to be able to modify what was displayed on the screen.
Now I got two manuals for the CPC 464 by accident. I didn't know there were two different types. Comparing the pages reveals that both manuals have the exact same content.
