So I’ve been ripping some old #CD (30+ years old), even some CD-Rs. I have not run into a problem. I have always taken care of my CDs and kept them out of direct sunlight. Not sure if that’s the key but so far no CD rot here. Scratches are a different issue. #MediaTypes #MusicListening #Music

[#]Voivod #EndOfDormancy (Metal Section) with a brass section. I’d love a whole album of this, new songs written for the horns would broadly be even better. My two cents, Voivod is a true progressive band that created a new sound through their influences. Most prog metal is just 70s prog played like a metal band that seems to just want to show off their virtuosity. #ProgMetal #ThrashMetal #HeavyMetal

[#]Voivod is easily one of my favorite bands ever. When they did the “End of Dormancy” with a brass section it improved the song greatly.i want more of that. I have reservations about rock bands playing with a symphony, there’s too many overlapping frequencies so something will suffer by being pushed to the back. I guess we will find out when the inevitable album is released. Going by the video my initial worries are confirmed. #ProgMetal #ThrashMetal #HeavyMetal

Back to #DC and #Discord. Actually this band started in #Madison #WI at the University of Wisconsin before moving back to DC.

[#]CircusLupus’ second album Solid Brass (1993) has one foot in #TouchAndGo noise and one foot in the angular #DiscordRecords sound.

It took me a while to get into them but now I’m full immersed.
