Some people like to run to a motivating playlist. I just did my fastest run since last May listening to a podcast of InfoSec guys complaining about the current state of threat/exploit naming. I'm not sure what that says about me.

Can God create a boulder so big that He can't lift it? I don't know. But #Windows can create a file with a name so long that it can't delete it. I encountered this last night when I was creating a filesystem for archiving 2024 stuff. There are a few tutorials online that involve using 'del "\?<path and filename>"' in cmd. This does not work. The only thing that I have found that actually does is to mount the desired directory in #Linux and use "rm". #FOSS to the rescue once again!

My 2024 reading list was pathetic, but I did enjoy what I read! @natania is mostly at fault for that.

Last run of the year. It was slow (for me) and it was short (for me), but the real victory is that it happened.

Why are bats the only animal that gets a special name for their poop?

"Wintery Mix" has to be the cutest name for the grossest thing.

The tendonitis flareup in my shoulder means I have to lay off rowing, pull-ups, pushups, and inverted rows for a while. It would be nice if my internal critic would lay off about it during the duration, too, but no such luck.

Back when I had conversations about such things, people would tell me they wouldn't use #Linux because they wanted to play games. I used to tell them that Linux was the game, which wasn't the selling point I thought it was. But honestly, I have played many games that were less fun and way less satisfying than getting a barely supported wifi nic to work.

I'm kind of surprised that non-fogging perscription lenses haven't been invented yet. They should have been on the market by the end of 2020! I'm pretty sure the blue-blocking coating doesn't even do anything and I still shell out for it. Do they not understand how much more I would pay to be able to wear a mask or a scarf on my face and not have to worry about falling down a manhole or walking into a pole?

I'm thinking maybe I should buy some cross country skis or snowshoes. That would counteract the above effect.

Gonna be a snowy winter because this is the first year in a while that I'm driving a front wheel drive sedan.

Just replaced the batteries in my mouse for the first time since setting up this office in 2022. It's wild to me that a couple of AAs can last over 2 years, but 8 D cells in a 1980s boom box lasted about 10 minutes.

I've always bought Amy's out of habit. I'll have to give the Siete beans a go. I love the brand. The almond flour tortillas were a lifesaver when we had to be gluten free.

I love this article. As a parent, I would not tolerate the older sibling's behavior. It still boggles me that folks believe people with autism have problems with empathy.

It's strange to me that all the articles I've read about what individuals should do to prepare for #inflation mention an emergency fund. It seems counterintuitive to prioritize having cash on hand when the whole problem is cash losing it's value?
