Even though I've been absent since before Christmas that doesn't mean I haven't been busy (despite the warning signs).

I've been nose-to-the-grindstone making sure this piece looks perf for my clients so they can give it as a wedding gift for their friends. I absolutely love how it came out. THOSE STARS.

OK SO I DIED.

Not really obvs, but I came down with a bad case of pneumonia last month and needed to not be online with the temptation to work for a while.

I'm better now though - so I'm trying to figure out where I left off. Time to catch up.

I started renting a studio this year, and NATURE IS HEALING.

I feel like for the first time since 2020 I'm actually feeling capable of creating work to a standard I can respect in myself.

Which...is big for me.

Of course there's always going to be room for improvement - but as long as there's a next year I can keep going.

Having a dedicated space for it heckin helps.

All My Disparate Parts...Make Me Make Sense

The painting represents of my fear of intimacy with other people, of the pain related to said intimacy; as well as the disconnect between mind and body, and the desire to exist beyond my own ego without the needs of the flesh or the expectations others have of it.

All that to say it's complicated to be asexual & trans.

Ozurnyla - The Deceiver

Ozurnyla is the deceitful god of divination and the unknown within the world that I've been building for a while. She's known for being inquisitive, but unpredictable, so many supplicants offer sacrifices of live game to occupy her while seeking her guidance.

This is the largest I've worked in graphite since college, and I'm stoked with how it turned out! :D

Slowly but surely been getting this done. Before I left the studio last night I had pretty much completed the right wing, so woohoo! I can't tell you how many times I've erased and redrawn it.

Now I'm setting to shading it. I'll be keeping this one entirely graphite, which I haven't done at this size in a very...very long time.

He's all finished! Thanks to Tumblr for helping me decide how to handle the background of the sticker! I ended up settling for a dark grey with a bit of an outline to help the flowers and other details stand out.

Ultimately I'd like to complete at least one more character portrait before sending these to print, but maybe more? One of my followers on Insta is begging me to draw Sparkle 🤣 Either way, I really like working in this style.

Every year Tucson Comic Con hosts a scavenger hunt where people can collect QR codes from different vendors and artists in exchange for small prizes. It's a really cool idea that I love taking part in, and love coming up with new stuff to hand out!

This year I went back in time and redrew an etching that I created my junior year of high school. It's super cool to me to see just how far I've come! I hope everyone who came by enjoyed nabbing one of these :D
