This is going to have dire consequences.
Australian firefighters help out a lot in California during their fire season, and vice versa.
When the whole year is fire season, that will not be a possibility any more.

No.
Just. Fucking. No.
Stop this shit already.
I love audiobooks and I specifically love how different narrators breathe life into the story in their own ways. I don't want AI sludge to ruin that and be yet another avenue to replacing human work.

We'll there we have it.
"Video has emerged of a Nationals senator saying his party is not serious about its nuclear policy and that it will not be the cheapest form of energy."

This is way more sinister than it seems on its face. The conservative government is diverting half of the country's fundamental science budget of NZ$75m to “research with economic benefits" - a sector that already has NZ$600m budget.
This severely impacts research into extremisms as well research by indigenous scientists, both of which were primarily funded from the $75m pot. This NZ government is just appalling.

The media need to start calling out Dutton's nuclear fantasies as precisely what they are: a way to remain dependent on fossil fuels for the foreseeable future.

Timely reminder of this Honest Government Ad by @thejuicemedia.
"Most Australians don't know what the RBA does, and that's just as well because otherwise this place would probably be on fire right now."

The disparity between public and private schools is infuriating.
Public schools struggle for the necessities, while wealthy private schools, who charge $30k and more per year in fees, don't know what to do with all their money and build luxurious pools and ostentatious libraries.
And they're still raking in huge amounts of taxpayer subsidies, which is possibly the most rage-inducing bit.

They tell the poor to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Problem is, if all you can afford is cheap boots, those bootstraps keep breaking. And if you can't afford any boots, well then you're just fucked.
What they don't tell you is that this is by design, and working as intended.
