At the orthopedist office at 6:30 for my wife’s epidural shot. I’m the only male amongst 5 women. As they call the first 3 back I lean over to my bride of 30 years and comment, “Do they even work on men here?”

Her reply: “It’s Taco Tuesday!”

She’s a keeper!

UGH! Trump mail is the worst! Glad we are a battleground state but hate that we are a battleground state at the same time! The disingenuous nature of this mailer is sickening.

On my 5th, our is it my10th listen through of The History of the Roman Empire and during Episode 173 I had to stop the episode to appreciate the intrinsic question in this paragraph

The History Of Rome: Episode 173- The Broken Bow

This paragraph sounds prophetic in 2024.

“””

“But these too are all artificially imposed divisions, invented by historians to help keep the past manageable. Because without those artificially imposed divisions, every book, every class, and every podcast would have to be called the history of the world, 4.5 billion BC to the present. After all, it really is just the one long narrative, drifting seamlessly from one briefly held form to the next.”

From The History of Rome: 173- The Broken Bow, Mar 25, 2012

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-history-of-rome/id261654474?i=1000343455285

“””

Come November does the USA drift “seamlessly from one briefly held form to the next”. Does the republic become a fascist dictatorship, or do we follow the lead of our greatest European friends and assert that we are #notgoingback. Do enough people in key states, like Georgia recognize that #harris2024 is the only way we move forward as the country to which all aspire? What are we going to do, beyond voting. What labour may we provide to return America to the dream we once held. It is our time to change that dream into our reality. We are leading the world. We shall proceed, unworried the righteousness we bring . Hope springs eternal!

Then again this just may be the insanely rattling results of gummy and sleeping pills hitting together?

Been fired from a job 2 times in my 40 years,of working and Crowdstrike was a big part of the second firing…gather around its story time!

It was summer of 2018 and I was the Sales Engineer of the year at CarbonBlack. The new management brought in for the 2017 IPO at CarbonBlack decided to bring the North American sales teams together at our fancy new offices in Boulder, CO to rally the troops around the horrible NGAV product that the company had pivoted to in response to Cylance and Crowdstrike. It was so bad that I have blocked the name of it from my mind… but anyhow, during the last day of the onsite somebody from product marketing was up on stage trying to coach us on how to sell against Crowdstrike and they were really laying in to how crappy the Crowdstrike Linux software was. They kept repeating how shitty it was, I mean literally saying the word shit. After about 5 minutes of this I raised my hand and when they called on me I said, loud enough for the entire room to hear, that “Shit beats nothing any day of the week!” Oh did I forget to mention that CarbonBlack didn’t have a NGAV endpoint for Linux… anyways, less than 48 hours afterward I got the call from my dipshit of a new manager that I was fired.

Nothing says we have an effective security program quite like admitting that the only reason you launched an incident response is because you noticed your data for sale on a forum!

Even though Trump was brutal to Desantis, what are the odds that Desantis introduces legislation to allow felons to vote in Florida now?

Reading IETF's memo on "New UUID Formats" and came across probably my most favorite phrase I've read on the Internet.

"Timestamps SHOULD be big-endian"

Oh wow! I’m reading this week’s Smart Bear blog and am struck by this quote

“””The best advice doesn’t come as a barrage of statements but rather from a series of questions, asked by someone playing devil’s advocate. Rarely will an advisor know more than you do about your domain of expertise but that doesn’t mean an outside voice is useless. Pointed questions force you to defend your choices. A healthy debate challenges your assumptions without implying they’re false.”””
