ms10yo who was also iso'ing with me is now free to go. I'm still two red lines (day 4 by test, in hindsight prob day 6 by the "wake up at 4am for no reason" symptom)

spicy cough, round 3, fight.
(annoyingly i went for a booster last week, was told to wait for new versions that they'd have by Wednesday. Instead they do not, and I had covid by then).

@futzle @potatochipwatch
well, i got some of the coffee doritos.
They do indeed taste like coffee (latte powder?). And then doritos.
They're not terrible, its just disjointed.

That annoyance/pride emotion when you find Mr 6yo sneaky reading with his night light, 20 minutes after he's meant to be in bed.

This is only 10s, but this went on for about 5 minutes last night - cloud to cloud bolts with rolling thunder. (no sound because bub decided to screech through most of it)

'eucalyptus oil' is just the brandname - its not actually made from eucalyptus trees. Its made from squeezing platypuses.

Pretty pleased by the look of joy and evil on the face of Mr5yo as he unlocks the power of reading. He's gone from solid on reading and writing letters to being happy to launch into trying to sound out any word and being pretty successful. Any word. Anything. Books. Parents' computer screens. Labels. Parents' phones. Signs. Parents' paperwork. Cereal boxes. Literally a whole world of things that his parents now have to take off him is open to him. Until its taken away.
He loves it, he gets this manic look in his eye that is 100% "I HAVE THE POWER" when he works out a new word.
And I'm reminded that parenting is just a series of teaching them how to do something and then having to go "no not like that". Walking, talking, reading, all of it :)

This is 100% the start of a Call of Cthulhu story. A spaceship sent beyond the wan light of our sun into the dark starts returning nonsensical data, but then starts talking to you again?
Do not listen to the words from the darkness.

Mr 5yo: What does the ground feel when you touch it?
Me: Uh. It doesn't have any nerves or brain, so it cant really feel anything.
Mr 5yo: [pause] maybe we should ask a scientist
