This morning I dug out an old backup of a sysex file and midi-dumped it over to my Waldorf Pulse, using MidiOx on my old Win95 laptop. It worked and now I got all the sounds back, that I used in 2004. Crazy how we managed our data back then.

Jetzt kommen wieder die ganzen Wahlempfehlungen. Ich sag mal so:

Aus meiner Erfahrung hier gehe ich frohen Mutes davon aus, daß ihr alle intelligent genug seid, eure Wahl nicht von Angst oder gar Hass leiten zu lassen. Insofern spare ich mir weitere Bemerkungen und vertraue darauf, dass ihr schon wisst was ihr tut.

Spent the day resurrecting four tracks from Das Blaue Monster. They are 10 years old and exist only as a mediocre live recording. Luckily I could load all the Midi-Tracks into Ableton. Then I had to reassign all the drums by listening to the recording and guessing what samples I used back then. I also had to recreate the bass sounds, as I don't have the old Novation Bass-Station at hand. Then I dug through backups of my Nord-Modular patches, trying to guess under which working-titles I had stored them back then.

But I think it all worked out quite okay(ish).
