2025-01-10: I get a used #Samsung SNH-V6110BN camera from ~2017, see that it connects to xmpp.samsungsmartcam.com via #XMPP and has a GPL notice. I request the GPL source from Samsung

2025-01-16: Samsung refuses the OSS request because the camera was not manufactured by Samsung

2025-01-18: the DNS records on xmpp.samsungsmartcam.com are gone, the app doesn't work any more.

Did I make them notice and shut it down? 😢

AAAAAAAHHH! Replies to a "followers only" post on #Mastodon by default go to "followers only", but to yours, not to the OP followers! This essentially guarantees that you can't have a conversation in such a thread, just many confusing dialogs with the OP!

I've learned to "open on original instance" to see the whole thread on remote accounts, but this one is just broken.

(don't tell me how it's an implication of the protocol, it's just fucked up UX)
