A couple of weeks ago I added a cronjob on my Synology to prune old #HomeAssistant backups (because the HA backup UI would get wedged trying to read all the old ones to display the list). Today I see they released a whole new backup experience which looks like it'll address that anyway :)

Are there any prosumer router type things which handle breaking out the connection for a landline (from FTTP)?

Having fixed their surprise IPv6-only problem, today my parents' Sky router "made a rustling noise" (I'm taking to be shorting of some kind) and won't power on any more. Tempted to replace it with something I can manage properly, but they now don't have a traditional phone line, just fibre.

@MonaApp is there a way to share a Pro Max purchase with someone in my iCloud family without purchase sharing enabled? Purchase sharing is no good for us as we don’t want to move all payments to one card, and you can’t do it without having that happen. @mrs_seward wants to use Mona too :)

Neat, I have the charge state for the house batteries showing up on my Watch via #HomeAssistant!

The + at the bottom is for “charging”, it’ll change to - while discharging and % when idle :)

I updated my post about automatically downloading YouTube videos (for e.g. Plex) to update it with my script for fetching videos to download from Wallabag, now with marking-videos-as-archived once they’re downloaded.

For #FreeBSD admins, if you're seeing security mails about CVE-2024-39281 not being patched on your host but you think you're up to date, it may be because the audit mechanism can't see fixes in kernel modules (vs in the kernel binary itself). Yesterday’s #heatpump progress (left it too late for pics): pipe work from pump to tank is done. Tank needs wiring in and some overflow pump thing installed. Should be done today 🤞🏻
