Nach Kagi macht Vivaldi mein Leben gerade enorm besser. Beide verwende ich noch nicht lange, Vivaldi exakt seit heute, und ich bin mit vielem nich zufrieden, u.A. dass Vivaldi nicht vollständig Open Source ist (das is Chrome aber auch nicht) und das Kagi mich per Login tracken kann (tut Google eh, und Kagi kriegt von mir Geld um mich weniger zu tracken).

Ich bedaure den Niedergang von Firefox und das Chromium-Monopol, aber ohne dass jemand FF nachhaltig forkt und finanziert, wird das nix.

Warum schreibe ich das?

Ich war als Zivi in einer MS-Klinik in den frühen 2000ern täglich mit den Folgen der Krankheit konfrontiert, habe die Hilflosigkeit der Ärzt*innen gesehen, die immer nur symptomatisch gegen den progressiven Verfall arbeiten konnten, auch wenn es Vermutungen zur Ursache gab.

Ich bin froh, wenn diese Krankheit wirklich so ultimativ besiegt werden könnte wie Polio in den 70ern. Einfach per Impfung.

Update: Studie ist von 2022.

Eine Studie aus Stanford hat gezeigt, wie das Epstein-Barr-Virus Multiple Sklerose (#MS) auslöst.

Kurz: Ein Protein des EB sieht für das Immunsystem des Körpers verdächtig nach einem körpereigenen Protein aus, das in Gehirn und Rückenmark vorkommt. Also wird das Immunsystem auch dort aktiv verhält sich neurodegenerativ.

Damit könnte z.B. eine wirksame Impfung gegen EB neben zahlreichen Krebssorten auch MS den Gar ausmachen.

Ich bin wirklich mal gespannt, wie die Leute, deren Job Social Media ist, auf der @republica ihr Handeln in der aktuellen Lage rechtfertigen.

Und ob sie uns erneut erklären, warum das #Fediverse leider keine Alternative ist, weil es da keinen Milliardär gibt, gibt, der ihnen eine mundgerechte Plattform baut (und sich ganz zufällig als Faschist entpuppt).

Oder ob es überhaupt ein nennenswertes Problembewusstsein gibt.
