I appreciate that this bisync proc macro crate builds with #[deny(dtolnay)]

I've been looking into how to read files from Tangara's SD card in Rust and it seemed that the embedded-sdmmc crate would be the best option. Unfortunately, it doesn't currently support async, which makes it a nonstarter for playing audio files without threads. Fortunately there's a neat little macro crate bisync that allows implementing async and blocking code in the same crate in a maintainable way, so I made a pull request to use it: https://github.com/rust-embedded-community/embedded-sdmmc-rs/pull/176

The dismantling and disarray of the federal bureaucracy of course has many immediate, detrimental effects on enormous numbers of people. It also creates novel openings for political possibility. Be creative.

Considering what's going on now in the federal bureaucracy, there's no way the IRS would have the capacity to deal with mass refusal to pay taxes. Not that they did before anyway.

All this fuckin' around with Rust on my Tangara and I found it didn't boot when I tried to reflash the stock firmware 😬 I figured out how to recover though and documented it: https://codeberg.org/cool-tech-zone/ctz-web/pulls/9

I want to play with running Rust firmware on Tangara using Slint for the GUI. Since Tangara is using a similar MCU that I'm using for the LED props I'm developing, I could prototype a Bluetooth remote for my props using Tangara! 😆 It already has a screen, inputs, and a battery. I could then take that code and put it on a little remote control with an ESP32, screen, and some buttons.

The firmware definitely has room for improvement, but it has already gotten significantly better between the time that people got the first shipments and I got mine, so I am confident people will improve it. I may contribute some code myself.

Tangara is a tiny bit thicker and heavier than I hoped, but it's fine. It fits in my pocket nicely, even with my phone also in that pocket.
I appreciate the retro 90s aesthetic with the translucent case. I also appreciate that the case is polycarbonate; that gives me confidence in its durability.

The main reason I got a Tangara was to have a convenient portable music player that sounds better than a phone headphone jack, so, yeah, it does that. For a while, I've been plugging my RME Babyface Pro into my phone via a USB-C hub with PD input connected to a battery, plus portable speaker connected to another battery, for a total of 5 gadgets. Tangara allows me to reduce that to 3 gadgets (Tangara, speaker, battery for speaker), which is significantly more convenient.

The most important question: how does Tangara sound? Pretty good. Better than my Android phone's (Moto G7 Play) headphone jack. About the same as my ddHiFi TC35M2 USB audio interface (https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256802614973237.html). I got that to use with my phone, but it's quite finnicky and easily disconnects from the phone or headphones. Tangara of course doesn't sound as good as my RME Babyface Pro, but I didn't expect it to.
