Meebo extension for Firefox

Meebo has created a neat little Firefox extension[1], which will hopefully grow into something even better. Currently, the extension loads in the sidebar, and displays the user's buddy list. The sidebar buddy list also displays the recent text from a contact. The extension also notifies the user of messages and contacts in the statusbar. Drawbacks: You still need to have a tab open for meebo. sigh But the team states in the message window that pops in the meebo environment upon successful install and login, that they are in the works of tackling this issue--they hope to enable all communications to rely on the sidebar, and not the normal web interface. So, for the time being, I'm gonna keep the extension installed, and check for updates, but I don't think I'll take advantage of the sidebar, until they come up with something better.
