The heat and humidity really came back quickly on Wednesday across
Central and Eastern Kentucky and it appears the heat will be
sticking for the remainder of the work week as well. Afternoon
highs reached the low and mid 90s with heat indices close to 100
degrees at times. As the heat ridge builds in even stronger for
Thursday and Friday, highs should surge into the mid and upper 90s
with heat indices over 100 degrees at times. Once again slow it
down during the hottest part of the day. By the weekend a frontal
system will approach from the northwest, increasing our chances for
scattered showers and storms late Saturday and into Sunday.
Temperatures should cool off slightly behind the front with
readings in the mid to upper 80s. We should see a bit of a warm up
again by early next week with highs back into the low 90s...TG
