The last few weeks have been dominated by two things: work and moving. At my job, we are engaged in a large upgrade project that takes up almost all of my time each day. In the evenings, I have been helping to pack, move and unpack dozens of boxes and bins. These tasks have left me very little time to engage in Gemini.
Compounding the issue has been my recent trouble with our ISP. Not only did I post nothing onto my capsule for a week, but the capsule itself was unavailable for the same period. I'm so glad that issue has finally been taken care of.
On top of that, my wife will be traveling soon, giving me even less time to engage with the community--or so it would seem. One thing I greatly enjoy about Gemini is that it lends itself to reading in chunks over time. Algorithms don't push minutes-old content off of feed pages, nor am I inundated with ads or recommended links.
Regardless, I do have some thoughts that have been lingering in my head. I hope to get them into gemtext before long.

Our new house is located in a rural part of town, with no HOA and very few restrictions on what we can plant. My wife immediately bought some fruits and herbs to grow, most notable among them a pot of already-blooming strawberries.

We hired a moving company to help bring everything to the new house--we simply had too many boxes and items of furniture. We had staged most of them in the basement while packing, and the movers brought them up to our kitchen before sorting them and loading them onto the truck. This picture was taken when the room was two-thirds empty.

An early order of business at our new house was to replace the furnace and air conditioner inside, which were at the end of their serviceable lifetimes. The morning after the installation, we were awoken by a loud buzzing coming from our thermostat. The displayed message was a false alarm, but it took two more calls to the HVAC company and a visit from the manufacturer's support team to fix it.
