2023 Week 14/15: Status and Photos

2023-04-17

In my high school and university days, I attended multiple anime conventions a year. I even met my wife through volunteer work at a convention. After 2018, however, a combination of personal events, the COVID-19 pandemic, and evolving interests led us not to attend any anime conventions for three years. Last weekend we visited Anime Boston with a friend, and I had the best time I've had at an anime convention in almost a decade.

In the meantime, I finished rereading "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", my first rereading of the book since elementary school. I had a copy of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" as a kid, which I read multiple times, but I've only read each of the other books once. I intend to rectify that soon. The other book I'm currently reading is "The Well of Ascension" by Brandon Sanderson.

n general, I've spent very little time on the Internet in the last few weeks. That includes Gemini, which is why my post frequency has decreased. I still have great interest in Gemini, but I feel that my relationship with both the protocol and the community is shifting. I might write more on this soon.

Photo of the week (week 14):

=> Boston at Sunset

(PNG, 450x800, 179 KB)

We flew out of Boston, MA at the end of the weekend. As we turned west, I had a fantastic view of the city out of my window. Unfortunately, my current smartphone's camera tends to wash out images, requiring heavy contrast filtering to bring out the details.

Photo of the week (week 15):

=> Spring Bench

(PNG, 800x450, 422 KB)

With local weather finally approaching comfortable temperatures, I broke out my bicycle for some much-needed exercise. The mild evenings also brought out many flower blooms--and this bench, located along a nearby trail, particularly caught my eye.
