Malaysia is now dealing with bitcoin issues, with a steamroller

Sarawakian authorities have seized just over a thousand bitcoin mining
rigs and ran them over with a steamroller. Rightly so.

I can barely even begin to expound on the myriad of ethical issues that
bitcoin raises, but the biggest one which I have an issue with is its
extreme energy use... It uses so much power, even compared with its
contemporaries, that it has driven folks mining for it to steal power...
Likewise the high power usage results in very high emissions of carbon
dioxide. Just what we need, more global heating and climate chaos.
