A few days ago, jdj¹ posted an entry asking what fellow geminauts were selfhosting:

I like reading this post and the different answers it got so I decided to go through the same "exercise".

Even though I wrote many blog posts² about most of the things I selfhost, I thought it would be nice to do a short wrap-up in a single gemlog post:

Selfhosted at home:

I've written a lot about it, I have a "cluster" of 4 Raspberry Pi configured as a docker swarm cluster to manage my local services. It includes:

• Gemserv as a gemini server to manage this capsule and a feed aggregator
• Nginx to serve my blog (static files generated with Hugo) and a few other web pages
• FreshRss as my web RSS reader, a page I look way too much during the day
• Gitea for my git repo
• PsiTransfer to share images / files
• Syncthing to share files between devices
• Homer for a dashboard homepage that is my firefox default page. But to be honest, I don't use it much as I type directly the URL of the tools I want to open anyway.
• Grocy (for the past 2 weeks), to manage food and shopping list with my gf and fight against food waste.
• Traefik as a reverse proxy for all the things above
• Domoticz, nodered and mqtt is the trio to manage all home automation related things
• Snapcast for a multi room sound system
• Mopidy as an MPD server linked to Snapcast to manage the sound in every room

Selfhosted on external servers (digital ocean):

• Mail server: The story of 15+ years of selfhosting email servers could be a story on its own, as I've used many solutions, went through many servers and setup and faced many issues, I'm still very happy to selfhost my email. Because my home connection is now great, this is a service I want on a "real" infra (= good and stable network). I selfhost emails for me and my family, not to many others as this can become quickly a big burden
• Houston³ and tinylog aggregator⁴ capsules
• Statping, a service that checks if my services are online (needs to be outside my own network to make sense)
• A matrix/synapse server (private inscription, not public)

My blog (accessible via gemini too) is usually the place where I write about these services and how I set them up.
