paint-tober 2020-05: twofer

I didn't know what to draw today, so I stared at the empty file. I thought about canvases, pages, the voids of them, their pull. "Write about how you don't know what to write," they say, "draw your nondrawing." It just ends up being a hall of mirrors of empty canvasses all the way through.

=> birds

At lunch I sat outside in the back yard. Birds were really making a ruckus in the tall grass over the fence. I thought I'd try my hand at drawing the scene.

For "birds" I used rudimentary layers with the paste-from function of paint. Hopefully it looks a little less thrown-together than my earlier works.
