I have been following antenna for a bit and it's kinda crap. Half the links are broken and the other half is mostly really afull word games copied from nyt et al. You get a semi-descent article from the gemini usuals but its mostly worthless slop. it's unmonetized slop, I guess, but I feel like this is falling into the same pattern as the so-called "fediverse". Which is giving a similar experience to the normnie web without getting rid of foundational flaws in th model despite obviating the motivations for most of those flaws by not monetizing user data and engagement.

Maybe I'm just looking for a fundamentally different thing than the majority of "smolweb" users. It seems to me that most people don't actually have a problem with the most problematic parts of the modern internet.

it seems to me they still want to eat slop but served on the nice china set they got at their wedding. But, like, you coulda just stayed on the regular internet for that 🤷
