• James Neil Sneddon books on Bahasa Indonesia are amazinggg. comprehensive yet accessible and interesting

• learning languages with video platforms like youtube.com is sooo different compared to last time lol Snedon guy was complaining about not knowing any slang terms from this european australian bahasa teacher and i was like... huh? just watch miawaug lah

• Our Generations is a great documentary, not keen on their use of music and other cinematic attempts, but the content is there. Also why people dont emphasise upon military (do they do it like in things fall apart? kill one entire tribe as a threat) Holy fuck australia's modern colonization programs are still so terrible

of course the documentary dramatized it a little (lol do i consider that propaganda?) but wow its fucked up, and why is the support section on that wikipedia page longer than criticism???? Not sure if its legit but i always have a feeling like these modern colonizer case studies always have both sides to the argument (like its probably not so simple to just say the native supporters are shills and such) but the outcome of the entire ordeal will just be the raw realization of the depressing state of colonized, especially indigenous, peoples

• be careful of your romanticizing of certain ideas, ik u dont anymore but just keep in mind

• hm i think i fundamentally dont believe in equality of people, i prefer looking at it in a meta way, comparing cultural distributions and sizes

• indigenous people shaping the world is so fascinating, you cant even capture the political functions in modern english terminology. environmental-based anarchy-widely but with familial-heirarchy-ish?

• what i really dislike is the assumption that europeans were humanity's intellectual group. NO hahahahh. "but they were first to discover americas" THATS CUZ THEYRE THE NEAREST AND THEY WERE LITERALLY DYING OF DISEASE. I hypothesise that the first peoples of americas were not generalizable to be militarily weaker when they first entered, but disease made them strategically prone. europeans who caught their disease died before returning. there. ugh i want everyone to hear my hypothesis. how to validate this? no f-ing idea, im not interested in (learning to) reading academics opinion on this
