• moana and culture profiteering. It definitely was/is very clearly existing and problematic. idk how to even phrase it.

• These forms of colonialism is very tough to pick apart, which is why it isn't a bad idea to just avoid straight out.

also NEVER give your money to disney. never ever ever. the artists WERE paid already, dont f-ing worry about them. if you have to worry so much, give them money straight. you have no excuse

• hard to pick apart because the artists definitely made them with respect, and is not entirely truthful to dismiss the entire efforts as intentionally harming

• end (and effective) result IS still continued colonialism though

• digitizing cultures accessibly is however an extremely difficult and expensive thing to do, so even if it does more harm than good to the cultures, the tech and thought still exists and that is something to hold on to (and pick apart should you have the time)

• yourself makes a case study as well, and one whose parameters are controllable and inspectable

• Now, why is it that the indonesian dub caught my attention so heavily? i still dont know, i have few hypotheses but none solid. not sure if i included them in my prev essay, but i shall list them here

- id is general enough to not feel like the culture being appropriated

- id is doesnt feel so culturally jarring (and why not?)

- the voice actors did a damn good job

- it does introduce a whole different world to me... with beautiful art too..

• i wonder what protocols artists have with controlling the sexual aspects of their artwork esp when it's for like disney

• Why do i feel like malaysian politics isn't all that deep? Like its depth depends on these few individuals, with little broader perspectives. I probably need to talk face to face with people.

• Watching 7GB 1080p movie is sharp but not unbelievably enchanting as expected, probably cuz of the stupid aspect ratio ugh

• when i simply clip out video+audio by copying, reencoding gives:( Consider increasing the value for the 'analyzeduration' and 'probesize' options

• hmm how to even inspect a 7GB file? nano skips by lines breaks ugh, maybe less? but i want hex, there's probably a good hex editor for it
