# Checking in – January 2024
I skipped last month because I needed to jettison some tasks in order to keep things from becoming too much to handle. It's not entirely successful, but it's something. I still haven't managed to write up my review of last year, though, and I don't know if I should even bother trying.
Nevertheless, over the last two months, these things happened.
# Health
I lost another 1 kg or so during the last few months, sitting around 72 and 71 kg (though more on the former than the latter). I don't really understand why but I wanted that so I'm taking it.
Despite the above, I did go to eat in a lot of other places, which I have consciously decided to do anyway. It's mostly noodles, and I did enjoy it, and if it weren't for the high price I might even do it regularly. But the price they command limits it to a once-every-month kind of deal.
# Creative stuff
A sudden burst of creative energy has come to me, and suddenly I have managed to catch up on one of the things that I have wanted to write. This is something of a bugbear, because at its worst the wait time between "I have an idea I want to write about" and "I have it written" is somewhere in the order of a year and a half. Now it's back down to about a week which is much better.
That having been said I still have a ton of other queues that are waiting. That includes writing stuff that I haven't made any progress on after an initial flurry of activity. This always seems to happen for some reason.
# Education
I passed the JLPT N5. I did pretty well with the N5 though not as well as I would have thought. Looking to do the N4 this July. I think I can make it.
