THE GNU/Linux operating system started in the US (1983), but kernel development was started by a Finnish student, now a naturalised American living in Portland, Oregon (US). Finnish computer users are subjected to very aggressive entryism (see Nokia), not merely some "charm offensives", from Microsoft (now Google with a datacentre). That's strategic.
