As I compile every package in OpenEmbedded, and the recipe for 'openssl' is rather complicated, I had to wait until the OE devs have updated. Within the last few days, they have:

JJM (esmourguit in the forum) has been maintaining the French langpack for years. Now that there are no longer langpack PETs, emourguit has booted Easy 4.101 and used MoManager to examine the current state of translations.

A few days ago, I posted that YouTube Downloader is broken:

Smithy had sent me an email, with an alternative download URL, but I misunderstood.
The official youtube-dl site last release was December 17, 2021. The project is very active, with regular commits, but the "Update" button in the menu "Internet -> YouTubeDL YouTube downloader" only downloads the Dec. 2021 release. That was one of my misunderstandings; it only downloads the latest tagged release, not from the latest commit.

I committed a fix, well, hopefully a fix. See file 'ec-chroot'.
Feodor was experimenting changing the locale via QuickSetup. He changed from German to French, restarted X, all good. Then he changed to English and found some files were still in French. That has also been fixed, see file 'quicksetup'.

Ha ha, tonight I was thinking "this is it!"; will release easyOS 5.0. However, some more testing revealed a problem. Feodor reported some help files remaining in French when he changed from French to English, which I reported in previous blog post:

What I also discovered, and maybe Feodor mentioned this, don't recall, was some desktop icon labels remained in French.
Oh dear, that turned out to be a difficult bug. In French, the "trash" icon is labeled "Déchets". Changing locale to en_US in QuickSetup and restarting X, it was stuck on the French text.
