[13:40] schestowitz Thanks for reaching out. I installed Podman in Raspi OS about a year ago. It was apparent from the documentation that it was mostly a Red Hat thing, by design. Over time, the second-class citizen status of Debian might become more profound.

[13:40] schestowitz Years ago, with flatpak, I pointed out that systemd was a hard dep. Red Hat assured me that it would be fixed, but not every OS I check it on (this year) shows that systemd is still a hard dep.

[13:40] schestowitz I expect much of the same from ansible, podman, and the rest of the "IBM portfolio".

[13:40] schestowitz That's just IBM being IBM. Jim Whitehurst left, as did many others (also managers), which tells me Red Hat isn't Red Hat anymore.
