THE marketing industry [sic] has spoiled the world of science and technology (which was a real industry, it actually produced things like a real industry would).

Things have gotten so bad that many of today's technology managers lack background in technology and are instead spouting out marketing lingo. Workplaces, services and products deteriorate as a result. Everybody suffers, except "bullshit artists".

Vapourware has become "essential" and the "new normal"; companies keep rebranding everything as "clown" or "smart" or "Hey Hi" (AI) -- even if all those things allude to what the industry did for decades already.

In the past we wrote a great deal about "clown computing", "serverless", and all sorts of other misnomers. It is important to not only reject but to repeatedly mock misleading buzzwords; that's what weakens the marketing industry [sic] the most and can put geeks back in the front seat. █
