03:57 schestowitz[TR]; Very pleasant to heat from you again, I hope you are well!
03:57 schestowitz[TR]; The essay reads well, but I'd split into multiple parts with headings and give an overview, either as headings' TOC or abstract.
03:57 schestowitz[TR]; "Community-wide"
03:57 schestowitz[TR]; Should that be
03:57 schestowitz[TR]; "Community-wise"?
03:57 schestowitz[TR]; Well, maybe not.
03:57 schestowitz[TR]; I found not other things which I suspect to be typos. Techrights is under DDOS attacks this weekend, but we can publish as soon as you deem it camera-ready. Due to the DDOS I might take 1-2 days to check email.
03:57 schestowitz[TR]; > Great. I'll get the final draft to you this week. But you have to publish it then "as is" - I'll have a permissive Creative Commons license associated with it - which means it can and probably will appear with changes and maybe even with someone else's "perfections" - as long as they credit me with the original. Hell, you can too!
03:57 schestowitz[TR]; I almost never change anything in the text, unless it's a very obvious typo like "he" instead of "the" or "goverment" instead of "government" ;-)

10:39 schestowitz[TR]; Hi Roy -- I am a journalist who writes frequently and critically about free and open software projects, including these articles about Linux, Mozilla and Wikipedia.
10:39 schestowitz[TR]; I think we are on a similar wavelength re: the Linux Foundation and I have already learned a lot from your collection of links. Do you think we could find a time to speak?
10:39 schestowitz[TR]; I'm interested in a number of questions:
10:39 schestowitz[TR]; * How did you become focused on the abuses/corruption of the LF?
10:39 schestowitz[TR]; * Why do you think it has never really been written about in the mainstream technical press?
10:39 schestowitz[TR]; * What responses have you received from the LF or its employees?
10:39 schestowitz[TR]; * Can you direct me to any former employees who might be able to speak about the foundation and how it treats its employees? A place with lots of money and little outside scrutiny becomes ripe for workplace abuse and there is a high turnover at the foundation, from what I've heard.
10:39 schestowitz[TR]; I've interviewed a person involved in making Linux work well with arm chips and they described a situation where Intel has an inside track and Linux isn't a fair playing field. Do you think this is the right way to expose the corruption -- pay to code -- system there? Intel vs. arm?
10:39 schestowitz[TR]; I'm eager to tell this story -- it really speaks to the way the digital world works and look forward to getting your thoughts and suggestions.
10:39 schestowitz[TR]; All the best,
