Even Microsoft-sponsored sites openly admit it’s “hype”:

It’s still proprietary, centralised, and unprofitable:

Back in 2019 it was a small startup (living off the backs of other people’s capital):

This past summer it’s failing commercially and the number of users falls at double-digit (percent) rates:

Summary: Some ‘evil tongues’ in the media has begun speculating about ‘open’ (closed) AI shutdown and bankruptcy within months; alarmingly, the paid-for media hype (FOMO marketing tactics) is not sustainable, nor are the huge bills that the company sinks in (the “deal” with Microsoft was about faking "demand" for Azure, or as one might frame it, Microsoft basically buying Azure from itself to make media chaff and distract from mass layoffs of unprecedented scale)
=> closed | shutdown and bankruptcy | not sustainable | faking "demand" for Azure | mass layoffs of unprecedented scale
