Image: Operating System Market Share India
Summary: Linux commands about 80% of the Indian computer market (client side) if one counts Android and reports of an impending (now postponed, not immediate effect) import ban will destroy companies like Microsoft, Intel, and AMD; meanwhile, GNU/Linux market share in South Africa (SA) jumped to 5% this year. Compare that to South Korea; there’s a notorious ActiveX dependence there and Microsoft vendor lock-in (monopoly abuse) preventing adoption of GNU/Linux. The global south or BRICS is sailing away from Microsoft.
