Summary: Tonight we’ll publish the 400th blog post for July; we can probably maintain a similar publication pace for months if not years to come
THIS site started when I was still a postgraduate student (albeit I had already finished all the practical work and could focus on my thesis alone). When the site turned 16 last November I was on leave from my job and weeks later, at age 40, I resigned (as I had planned for quite some time). Seeing that the company I left (an early sponsor of the FSF, albeit gone rogue) is now imploding and given that earlier this year we found out it had embezzled the staff, I’m in no hurry to find another job. I’ve no regrets about leaving as that allows me to focus “full-time” on Techrights.

“Even when the World Wide Web dies, Techrights have enough following in Gemini to justify going on and on.”
Later today we’ll publish the 400th blog post for July. That’s higher than the previous record from August 2010 (371 posts for that month). It was months before I went to work for the company I left this past December.
We have no way to fund Techrights. Trying to raise money for the site would likely mean that Techrights becomes indebted to some person/s and/or company/ies. The debt culture with “business loans” is a recipe for trouble.
One way or another we’ll get by. Even when the World Wide Web dies, Techrights have enough following in Gemini to justify going on and on. █
