Microsoft fires in batches (it gets reported in Ireland and in Washington, due to legal requirements (WARN), maybe elsewhere), so “70″ could be one batch of 3 or 4 (maybe 350 in total, i.e. 10% of all the staff):

While the total number has not been confirmed, Microsoft filed a notice yesterday that it would cut 276 staff in Washington, CNBC reports.
