Summary: There seems to be almost no journalism left on issues like patents in Europe (or in general); the little coverage that exists is full of conflicts (of interest) and there’s media blackout when it comes to the biggest and most noteworthy news
THE EPO had a massive strike this past week, but not a single publisher — not even blogs — mentioned that. Not even a single sentence, never mind article/blog post. In the video above I share my journey through 7 days of news/posts/cruft, demonstaring that things have only worsened since we started this series.

When Benoît Battistelli was in charge of the EPO millions of Euros were spent bribing the media and paying lawyers to blackmail publishers, at times even firing or silencing well-meaning journalists. António Campinos continues along the same lines and it shows.

Regarding European software patents, the video above shows some of the new terms used to hide what those really are; there’s also a huge amount of UPC disinformation, which is being disseminated by Team UPC and a few sites funded by Team UPC.
This past week quite a few Europe Patents were reported to have been smashed by tribunals. █
