Summary: 7 days after the catastrophic outcome at the Enlarged Board of Appeals (basically admitting it cannot go on with the case due to partiality problems and the right to be heard) we’ve seen no more than 5 bits of coverage about it, mostly in blogs or some law firms’ Web sites (we saw just 2), so it’s far too easy to become rather cynical about the sordid state of journalism

With some exception here and there, as we noted this morning, the catastrophe of last Friday didn’t receive press coverage. The EPO has said nothing about it, excuses are running out for “still working on it” or “still investigating” (that cannot take more than a week, can it?), so we have sort of established that the EPO’s management still has most of the media under its thumb (money talks, truth isn’t as profitable). The video above explains that while showing some examples of how it was covered. It also gives some background about the case in very simple terms (not legalese and cryptic formalities). █
