Some so-called ‘Linux’ sites helped Microsoft bury the evidence (using fluff about a dud) while not at all covering the blunder (or the real news)
September 10th (the real news starting to unravel, rapidly spreading from one site to the next)
And then…
Later in September 10th and the following couple of days (there are several dozens more pieces like the above; those are merely ‘manufactured’ stories or PR spam, timed to coincide with or distract from a major blunder as users are unable to access their work, suffering more than downtime)
Summary: Several dozens of spammy ‘articles’ (puff pieces) about WSL2 appeared in the past 2 days, only a day if not less (just hours) after WSL2 came under fire for being remotely broken by Microsoft [1, 2] (this is what PR departments do and it’s regrettable that some so-called ‘Linux’ sites decided to participate in Microsoft’s face-saving, damage-limiting campaign of distraction)
