Summary: Microsoft has managed to convert groups offering a substitute to Microsoft’s proprietary software… into Microsoft shills
WHAT’S in a name?
Imagine being called the “Open Source Initiative” (OSI) while advertising proprietary software in your official blog (Microsoft job ads).
Imagine being a so-called ‘journalist’ who speaks to GitHub executives (proprietary software) to ‘understand’ Open Source. It happens a lot.
“With a spokesperson from Microsoft and at least 4 Microsoft managers inside the ‘Linux’ Foundation’s management and the Board should one expect Linux focus to persist?”Many so-called analysts, funded by Microsoft of course, do the same. GitHub, i.e. Microsoft, is treated like some sort of (un)official spokesperson ‘for’ the very thing it is not (and against).
Now, about the Linux Foundation…
With a spokesperson from Microsoft and at least 4 Microsoft managers inside the ‘Linux’ Foundation’s management and the Board should one expect Linux focus to persist? Earlier this month they announced support for two operating systems that are not Linux and Linux.com has been left at the hands of someone who last month said he “admires” Microsoft.
Watch out, ‘Linux’ Foundation…
Your mask keeping slipping and falling off completely. You’re likely already infected.
A Linux Foundation that isn’t pro-Linux is like Greenpeace becoming pro-pollution. █
