Summary: Moonlight hype comes from Microsoft’s direction, as usual
IT was quite predictable that as soon as Miguel de Icaza announces the beta of Microsoft Moonlight 2.0, then those who will cover it enthusiastically will be the pro-Microsoft reporters. And indeed that’s the case. The top results in Google News show that was first covered by almost none other than the Microsoft blog of CNET (Ina Fried) and later by Scott M. Fulton and Gavin Clarke who are very Microsoft oriented.

It is very normal for Mono and Moonlight hype to come from Microsoft [1, 2], which is using these to leverage and extend its monopoly. Novell is paid to do this thing. █
“We could refresh the look and feel of the entire desktop with Moonlight”
–Miguel de Icaza
