daedalus takes flight - 2021-06-25

as one door closes, another opens.... sometimes.

my asrock b450 fatality itx build could not cope with thi 3900x and my planned upgrade asus b550-i arrived today.

• asus b550-i
• latest bios 2401
• 850 watt psu
• amd 3900x cpu
• 16 gb ram
• 512 gb pci 4.0 m2
• 512 gb pci 3.0 m2 (not yet used)
• thermaltake core v1 case
• ubuntu 20.04 LTS - i messed up adding steam and another package so overwrote.
• pop_os - i really did try to like gnome but really i hate it - also much of outhe box claims for pop_os is not apparently true.
• xubuntu 21.04 - back where i belong:-)

i will need some days to establish temperatures.

new install with old disk attached to copy files over as i need.
