aerc email - 2021-05-12

without igniting any fires - i use vim, and whenever possible. i was finding using mainstream gui email client editors a pain: naturally trying to edit with vim keys.

much searching led me to two solutions:

• aerc on linux in a terminal.
• mailmate on macos with vim as an external editor.

aerc was ctt (crashing to terminal) before the setup wizard had finished but the log feature helped. i resized my terminal larger and i could then complete the setup wizard.

aerc > log

ctt only happened with the setup wizard: aerc runs without problems from a default 80x24 terminal with a 14 pt font.

i'm still learning to find my way about but aerc has good help builtin. modifying the conf files is easy. all good so far!
