Monopoly Was Invented by a Woman (who got ripped off)

More importantly, Monopoly was invented by a woman, Lizzie Magie in 1903, and shamelessly ripped off. The story is fascinating, and there is a book about it. There were two different sets of rules: a left-leaning one and a monopolistic one. The idea was to show how life is much more pleasant without monopolies.

Considering that it was stolen by a 'family friend', stolen from the friend by Charles Darrow who sold to Parker Brothers which was subsequently gobbled up by Hasbro, I'd say dog-eat-dog monopoly wins.
