Ran accross this post yesterday. Currently, at work, we use the very popular Ansible for automation however at my previous employer, I used Rex for automation and deploying new systems for customers. It was configured to configure new VMware hypervisors and deploy and configure new servers on those hypervisors.
Rex worked very well for me and it was exiting to find someone else that knew about it.
