A faint partial Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) was first observed in the SOHO/LASCO-C2 coronagraph imagery from 07:48 UTC February 01. This was associated with the long duration C3 flare from near disk centre with peak time 07:43 UTC February 01. The majority of this eruption was directed north of the Sun-Earth line but an Earth directed component is expected with a predicted arrival time early on February 04.
