A partial halo Coronal Mass Ejection (CME), with angular width of 150 degrees first appeared in the SOHO/LASCO-C2 field of view at 02:48 UTC August 17. This CME was associated with the long duration C3.6 flare which peaked at 02:46 UTC. Due to the location of the origin near the west limb, no impact at Earth is expected.
