Solar alert

Issued on 2022 Mar 31 0915 UTC

A shock-like structure has been detected by DSCOVR and ACE on March 31st around 01:41UT. The solar wind speed jumped from 439 to 508 km/s. A jump can also be seen in density and temperature. The interplanetary magnetic field subsequently increased to 20nT while Bz reached -13nT. Kp=5 between 00:00UT and 06:00UT. The proton flux of 10MeV Integral Flux exceeded 10pfu at March 31st 06:20UT. The observed conditions are due to the expected ICME arrival from the coronal mass ejections, which were triggered, as detected by LASCO, on March 28th around 11:29UT by an M4.0 flare and on March 28th around 20:24UT by an M1.0 flare.
