Remove leading directory portions from a path.

• Show only the file name from a path:

basename {path/to/file}

• Show only the rightmost directory name from a path:

basename {path/to/directory/}

• Show only the file name from a path, with a suffix removed:

basename {path/to/file} {suffix}
