Nishla Smith 🎤

I was in Manchester and I went to see Nishla Smith sing. She has an album out with a sleep theme.

I'm not a big fan of jazz (stop soloing all the time!) but there was a lot to enjoy. The songs were inventive and interesting. The backing band were good, especially the trumpet player. And she sang the second half in pyjamas, which was not as weird as it sounds.

In other Manchester news, there's museums with gift shops that I thought might be good for Christmas shopping. They were shut Sun/Mon/Tue which were the exact days I was there. The streets were full of stalls for a Christmas market, but that hadn't opened yet. So everyone gets socks again this year.
