Since pre-season testing, everyone has thought that Verstappen will win the championship again. Yawn. So far he's only failed to win the race where his brakes failed.
So what else has happened? Some things I could write about are:
Only two of those are actually about something that happened on track this year.
Hamilton is pissed off that Mercedes have given him a second rate car for three years in a row. He's signed for Ferrari (but not until next year) hoping for another chamionship before he retires.
When Sainz was unwell, Bearman got substituted. He's 18, and drives in F2. A half a second is a big gap in F1, but F2 cars are about 10s a lap slower, so it's a bit of a jump. Even though he'd already missed most of the weekend's practice sessions, he did pretty well, and he'll probably get a race drive next year.
Sainz is having to leave Ferrari because Hamilton's coming. Then he had to miss a race with appendicitis (see Bearman above). But then while not fully recovered he had a dominant win after Verstappen's brake broke. He couldn't have made a better advert for himself.
I'm not going to say anything about all the allegations and all the court cases, but it seems from the outside that power and money have the loudest voices. Surprise!
