So this guy on the mailing list has posted another update to his Gemini paywall CGI script called 'gmipay'.

Of all of the terrible things that The Web has spawned, I don't think I'm alone in my belief that paywalls are among the worst.

Can we agree to, you know, not do this kind of thing? It's inevitable that capitalist parasites are going to find ways to sink their grubby little chompers into everything; but please, let's at least try and fight this before it becomes a trend.

I could see this was crapto (Bitcoin Cash) shilling at the second paragraph. BCH's schtick is "cheap transactions" so they're actively pushing microtransactions.

This idea is wrong on so many levels... I remember seeing around a satirical parody of such a system (with a random numbers "payment" system), and it was fun. This thing is just bad, and the amount of work that went into it is frightening.
