And while I did prod ideas I did not get around to actually participate. Unti I read this:

So at the last possible day I'm sitting at the archery range. Ok, I admit, I got a chair out. And typing outside with a bit of sunlight in a lazy afternoon, I am painfully reminded, that my eye sight has deteorated noticably. No fun. It is windy at some 15°C, I hear the traffic at the road in the distance. One of the neighbours is using their circular saw to cut wood. A small airplane is passing in the west. A cat is passing in front of me and speedily heads home.

I did try new things when preparing for a possible participation.

• I looked into gensio/ser2net to run a network connection over a serial cable. It works. I even got a git clone of my capsule across. Patience is being asked for an 10.00 kiB/s, even for a moderate 32 MiB of data. So the plan is to push the update across that same serial line, when returning home later.
• I looked into nncp a few times, but only after finding Rob's Guide[1] to nncp I made considerable progress. Except for a thing about users and permissions. But I got it running for one user on three separate systems.
• While playing with nncp I found mention of "git bundle create" --- now everyone else probably knows this already and I am just late to the show. But I did find it impressive, to transport a complex change in repository state in ONE file across to another system, and "import" this information with "git fetch", regardless of how this file was transported.
• I tried to use a webcam to take pictures. "fswebcam" to rescue. So picture time[2]!

The sun has vanished behind the clouds. It's getting fresh, so better commit these changes and move on. Cheers!
